Brawl sparks comeback for Hornets

When asked about what he thought of his team's performance, Foreman head coach Chuck Saieda put his hand on his chest and proclaimed with a big smile that he nearly went into cardiac arrest. Hornet's backup center, Giovanni Baez, summed it up nicely by saying "We played our asses off, especially after all of the cheap shots the fight."

Employing a ball control offense that pushed the Hornets to 293 yards and 41 minutes of the game clock for the game, Foreman recieved the opening kickoff and marched down the field 48 yards down to the Clark 8 yard line. And then on a sweep to the left side, RB Jeremie Groves took it down to the 1 yard line before stepping out of bounds. Just as the play ended, Groves was violently shoved to the ground by #33, Khama Ivy, seperating his right shoulder and being knocked out of the game. Following a 37 minute delay, #35 Drake Norwood rumbled up the middle for a 1 yd score.

It didn't take long for the Eagles to take advantage of the dejected Hornets #11, Lance Cathey (89 yds ret, 93 yds ruching, 74 yds receiving and three TD's for the game)returned Foreman's kick 85 yards for
a TD. Throughout the first half, the Eagles built up a 20 - 8 lead with a mere 7 offensive plays. After Drake Norwood ( 2 tac, 1 sack, 1 INT) sacked Michelle Clark QB, #2 Travis Lacy ( 4/9/ 155 yds 2TD's and 2 INT's, 27 yds rush,) in the end zone for a safety with 2:18 left in the first quarter, Cathey scored on a 68 yd romp up the middle before Lacy connected with #7, Clinton Boyd, on a 44 yd catch with 2:49 left in the half. Cathey then ran it the 2 point conversion to push their lead to 12 with 2:29 to go before the half. As time expired, Foreman QB, #12 Brandon Rodriguez threw a 21 yd lightning bolt to #81, Thomas Morris, to cut their defecit to 6 going into the half.

As The Hornets were just starting to turn things around after ROLB, #51 Juan Santiago, racked up three consecutive tackles and a sack, Eagles WR, Clinton Boyd, grabbed #25, DB Marvell Tate, and threw him to the ground. Tate then got up and shoved Boyd from behind before the benches cleared. Fists started swinging and referees started throwing yellow flags and blowing whistles. And before they knew it, Boyd, Ivy, #57 Timotheus Jones and #10 Jerrel Thomas of Michelle Clark were sent to the locker room. Of the Hornets, Tate, #14 Pedro Ivery, #78 and #74 were ejected.

Four plays after the dust was settled, #77 Jason Mick intercepted a batted pass and ran 44 yards the other way with it. Six plays later, #33 Andre Cargo, put Foreman ahead 22 - 20 with a 2 yd TD run and a 2 point conversion with 1:03 left in the third quarter.

After the Eagle offense went 4 and out to start the final quarter, Foreman ate another 6:30 off of the
clock before turning the ball back over to Clark with 3:09 left in the game. One play later, Cathey was
streaking into the end zone for the third time of the game after catching a Lacy pass on a broken play that left him wide open. With 2:42 left in the game, the Eagles were now up 26 - 22.

Starting on their own 34 yard line after a 19 yard return by #45, Kenneth Cooper, Saieda's offense
marched down to the Clark 4 yd line with just under a minute and handed the ball to RB Jamal Miller who broke tackles and scored to put his team ahead for good.

Foreman LB Juan Santaigo anchored the Hornet defense with 10 tackles, 1 sack and a forced fumble
that he recovered. The Eagle defense was led by LB Joseph Butler who had 8 tackles.
