11/11/05

Knight Wins Defensive Game

A evenly matched game was set between the Giants of Highland Park and the Prospect Knights. Two bend but don't break defenses and offenses with the ability to score points and control the ball.

1st Half:
Highland Park recieved the Ball after Max Cherwin sent the Ball through the endzone on the Kickoff. The teams exchanged possession twice before the Giants got things rolling. Highland PArk with a 3 Back Rotation (11, 24, 4) each offer there own unique talents to the runing game and controlling the ball for over nearly 17 minutes in the first half and topping it off with a one yard run for a touchdown. With the wind in their face they looked to the P.A.T. Center misfired
and the snap went wide. Prospect tackled the holder for a loss.

Prospect with possesion and less than 4 minutes bfore half covered the field in two passes covering 65 yards in a matter minutes minutes with the 2 minute warning approaching Prospects drive stalls and from 38 yards out Max Cherwin again comes through for the Knights a punches a kick through the Up-rights. Highland Park puts a Hurry-up offense together and drives 40 yards down to the Prospect 35 yard line, but comes up with nothing before Halftime.

2nd Half:
With the Start of the 2nd Half Prospect is set to Kick again. Prospect prefers the wind at their back for the final quarter. Highland Park is off to the races again, but due to some halftime Adjustments The Knights Defense does what it is supposed to and Bends for about 24 yards and then forces a Punt.

With the entire 3rd qtr trading possesion finally Prospect gets some field position early in the 4th qtr and puts together a small drive on the running of Matt Cherwin to setup another Field Goal by Max Cherwin. With the game tied Prospect once again Stops Highland Park with a little under 5 minutes to go in the games. with a mix of Passes and Off tackle runs the Knights drive down to the one yard line ans Matt Cherwin scores on a 7 yard off tackle scamper. Max Cherwin tacks on the extra point. With the lead now in hand it was up to the Defense to Bend as much as needed and not give up a Touchdown.

Highland Park game out with there hurry up Offense and had under a minute to put something together with two passes the Giants moved across mid-field and the entire Proscpect stands held their collective breathes. With only time for one more play and a 4th and 22 Highland Park throws a Hail MAry to the endzone.

It is tipped twice by Prospect defenders and once by a Highland Park reciever to fall flat in the endzone with no time left on the clock. Prospect wins with a final score of 13-6
