Eagles Stunned in Upset

Mooseheart - After an Early 60 yard touchdown run by Aurora Christian's Matt Russell, Walther Lutheran turned to its running game led by Andrew Cyrus, and Dan Green to score 32 unanswered points to defeat Don Beebe's Eagles 32-8.

Cyrus scored two touchdowns and rushed for 164 yards, while Green scored a touchdown and rushed for 74 yards to pace the offense. The Walther defense applied heavy pressure on AC's freshman quarterback Jordan Roberts forcing him to throw three interceptions. Led by Ryan Heuser who filled the stat sheet nicely by recording an interception, sack, fumble recovery and scored two touchdowns, including the go ahead touchdown on a 3 yard run in the 2nd.

Russel rushed for 129 yards and Jordan threw for 182 yard to lead the Christian offense, however the turnovers were costly and too much to overcome. Aurora Christian hosts Luther North at Mooseheart on Saturday, while Walther Lutheran host Luther South
