After traveling to Aurora on Friday night and departing the bus to Tornado sirens, the football team returned to make up our game on a rare High School version of Monday Night Football. No Al Michaels, Howard Cosell or Dandy Don, but we played anyway. Unfortanately, the good guys came away empty handed and a little beat up with a final score of 52-22.
The first quarter was low scoring. Despite their big aerial attack, we kept them in check and were only down 8-0 at the end of the first...The second quarter saw them score 3 times to our once. This gave them a 30-8 halftime lead. A 60+ yard pass from J. Haines to the B. Winship provided our only score of the half.
After an amazing halftime speech, the boys took the second half kickoff and marched down the field cutting the lead to 30-14. Eric Fahrenach provided the 5 yard plunge into the endzone. They added two more scores before Justin Haines broke a 59 yard run.
In the end they made some great catches and executed quite well. Unfortunately, Steve Wang broke his ankle and will be out for the rest of the season.
We have our homecoming game this Saturday versus Walther Lutheran at 2 PM.
