Plainfield, IL - In front of a spirted crowd of both Plainfield South and Morris fans, the two teams gave the crowd a game no one expected. The 0-4 Cougars gave the 4-0 Redskins and running back John Dergo (38 carries, 189 yards and 3TD's) all they could handle. Known for his long runs, Dergo had to grind out his yards this week, with his longest run being that of 12 yards.
Dergo scored 3 TD's, two of which were set up by Clemson bound TE Jamie Cumbie, but he earned every one of them including one in the first quarter on fourth down after being stopped on the 3 previous tries from the 1 yard line.
With the scored 14-7 and PS driving, running back Anthony Stewart fumbled for the games only turnover. Once gaining posession, the Redskins provided the Cougars with a steady diet of Dergo as he carried the ball several times before finally scoring his third touchdown making the game 21-7.
Dergo also kicked all three extra points and stood out on defense.
