2nd Annual Sports is Education Symposium

The Sports is Education Foundation offers valuable information, networking and idea exchange to coaches, teachers, athletic directors and parents during their 2nd Annual Sports is Education Symposium on October 20, 2005, at Loyola’s Water Tower Campus.

Many small colleges, junior highs and high schools lack the resources in dealing with issues like drugs, hazing, gambling, parent interaction, club sports and even coach qualification and management. The “Sports is Education” symposium will allow school administrators, coaches and faculty from schools throughout Illinois and neighboring states to address cutting-edge topics in the fields of sports and education. This symposium will also promote professional development, networking and the exchange of ideas among administrators, coaches and advisors.

Launched by Chicago-Kent sports law professor and Author of Larceny and Old Leather Eldon Ham and local Sports Media Producer Terry Poulos and partnered with Loyola University for its 2nd Annual Sports is Education Symposium targeting school administrators, principals, athletic directors and coaches on topics dealing with both school and park district sports and legal issues. Sponsored by the Sports Is Education Foundation, a 5013c not for profit organization and will be held on October 20, 2005, at Loyola’s Water Tower Campus.

Loyola University Athletic Director John Planek will co-host the event. Terry Poulos will serve as moderator. Other scheduled speakers include: Sports Law Professor Eldon Ham, IHSA Director Dr. Marty Hickman, Chicago Public School Director of Sports Administration Calvin Davis, Attorney and Partner with the law firm Ancel, Glink, Bush, DiCianni & Rolek and author of the “Bully Law”, William C. Kling,

The “Sports is Education, Too” symposium will be held in Chicago, IL at Loyola University¹s Water Tower Campus located at 25 East Pearson from 8:30am to 1pm with lunch served during the keynote address.
