DeLaSalle, CA. 151 Game Winning Streak Snapped
9/6/2004

Seattle, WA. (Qwest Stadium) - For those of you Illinois high school fans who realize that football happens outside our state, it may be no news to you that California's DeLaSalle in Concord, has lost it's first game Saturday in 12 years.

DeLaSalle was handed an unquestionable loss at the hands of 2003 Washington State Champs Bellevue High, 39-20 before a crowd of 25,000. Which is close to the record for attendance at a Washington State High School game.

While some have scoffed at the record, because California does not have a playoff system forcing a loss on all teams that were not state champions, one must still marvel at the record of 151 victories in a row.

Facts about the streak;
151 games won consecutively.
The Spartans last loss was to Pittsburgh, CA. on Dec. 7th 1991.
All coached by Bob Ladouceur’s
Ladouceur has coached at DeLaSalle for 25 years.
His overall record is 287-15-1.
Team has finished ranked #1 nationally on numerous lists during "the Streak".
Have not failed to score in a game since 1981.
The next closest team is Union, SC. Simms HS with 96 from 1945-54.
Illinois' Pittsfield is 7th on the national list with 66 victories in a row from 1966-73.
