Raiders Shut Out GCMS in 2nd Half

Gibson City (G.C.M.S. High School) - Central A&M's Zachary Tibbs (RB 5'10 170 sr.) ran for a 158 yards on 30 carries, with touchdowns of 1 & 27 yards and scored all of the Raiders points.

He also had a key 35 yard TD reception, with 4 seconds left in the first half to cut the Gibson City lead to one 14-13. The host Falcons went up scored first on a 52 yard reception by Jonathan Carpenter (RB 5'7 140 jr.).

The Falcons would get their second lead of the day as Carpenter caught another pass from QB Jimmy Jones (6'1 190 sr.) for 28 yards with 43 seconds before the half. The Falcons would hold a the lead even after the Raiders scored quickly before the half, until the start of the 3rd quarter when Central would take the opening drive of the second half down field, setting up Tibbs' 37 yard TD run. A reception by Austin Donoho (END 5'11 170 sr.) would make the Raiders 2 point attempt good & give them the lead for good with 9:21 left to play in the third.

Tibbs made several stops in the Falcon's backfield, along with Rusty Syner (5'8 140 so.) & Adam Zindel (LB 6' 170 fr.) who had a sack. Jeremy Zindet pitched in as well with an interception in the first half.
