Shutout, Tigers First Victory

Sherrard - On a wet and windy night at Sherrard the Sherrard defense came ready to play and got their first shutout of the season as well as their first victory by putting alot of pressure on the Farmers passing attack.

A lot of great hits and inspired team play lead the Tigers tonight. Sherrard got on the board in the first quarter with a Ryne Scott 24 yard TD run the PAT kick was no good but that is all the Tigers needed tonight.

They got on the board again in the 2nd with a Ben Arey 12 yard touchdown run to take the halftime lead 12-0.

After a scoreless third the Tigers broke free from the Farmers in the fourth as QB BJ Luxmore who was filling in for normal starting QB Phillip Bodeen threw a 9 yard TD pass to Alex Johnson and the PAT was good.

Ben Arey got on the board again with a 3 yd TD run. Then sophmore sensation Matt Warner scored late with a 24 TD run to finalize the scoring.

The JV squad won big 69-0. Sherrard now stands at 1-2 overall and 1-0 in Olympic confernce football as they travel next week to Macomb.
