Pro Career: Helped bring the 1st huge crowds to pro football when he signed with Chicago Bears in 1925; formed 1st AFL with manager-promoter C.C. Pyle in 1926 and played with the New York Yankees (AFL) 1926-1927, but league folded and he returned to Bears from 1929-1934. Elected into the NFL Hall of Fame in 1963. |
