Josh Fowler (LB 5'10 215 sr.) |
Belvidere | 28-19 loss to Rockford (Boylan) 4-0 | Fowler helped bring some life back into the Bucs who had only scored 6 points all night against Boylan's tough D. Fowler scored twice on defense in the second half, once 35 yard interception & again late in the game with a 65 yard fumble recovery. Helping bring the Bucs within three 21-19. |
4 |

5 |
Boone Thorgesen (QB 6' 180 sr.) |
Maple Park (Kaneland) | 24-14 over Batavia | Thorgesen was 23 of 46 and passed for 407 yards & 3 TDs. With the win over Batavia, the Knights set themselves up for a week 8 game against Geneva, for a possible conference title. |
6 |
D.J. Pirkle (DL 6'1 285 sr.) |
Frankfort (Lincoln-Way East) | 22-14 over Bolingbrook (5-1) | Pirkle was a key member of the Griffin defense that held All-State running back Dale Martin to just under 70 yards as Lincoln-Way Easy held on for a 22-14 victory. Beside several tackles Pirkle had a 4 yard TD run with 2:34 left in the game, ala The Fridge. We love it when the big guys get the ball. |
6 |
Dan Deirking (RB 5'11 195 sr.) |
Wheaton (W. Warrenville South) | 34-20 over Naperville North (4-2) | Deirking has been putting up big numbers for the last two seasons, so when he puts up numbers like 27 carries, for 270 yds with 4 rushing TDs plus 2 catches, for 41 yds & another TD it might just seem normal. When he does it against top ranked Naperville North, well that gets him the Player of the week. |
7 |
Danny Monckton (WR/DB 6'5 195 sr.) |
Glenview (Glenbrook South) | 55-22 over Evanston Twp. (3-4) | Even at 3-3 Evanston was still a team that could throw you a few surprises. Monckton had 1 TD reception out of his numerous receptions on the day, but more importantly he picked off the Wildkits twice, returning one to their 5 yard line before getting shoved out of bounds. |
7 |
Scott Skuteris (LB 5'10 175 sr) |
Elmhurst (York) | 31-0 over Oak Park-River Forest (4-3) | Skuteris was big factor in the Dukes shut out of conference foe Oak Park. He had 11 tackles (1 sack & 2 TFL) with a forced fumble and 2 INTs, one of which he turned into a 17 yard TD. |
8 |
Adam French (QB 6'1 175 jr.) |
Newton | 42-14 over Olney (East Richland) | French lead the game with 215 yards passing, but that alone didn't get him the Player of the Week, he also put another 114 yards up on the ground as well. |
