Week #3 vs. Naperville

Falcons Capitalize On Turnovers
Wheaton (Rexilius Field ) - Wheaton North busted out in the 3rd quarter Friday night against the Huskies of Naperville North to start them off in good position to be the first team beside, Naperville Central Naperville (North) or Wheaton (W. Warrenville South) to win the DuPage Valley in over a decade.
Wheaton's QB Zach Ullrich connected with Dareon Spencer & Paul Walker for touchdowns of 24 & 46 yards. Max Runions added another TD as he busted out for a 14 yard run & the Falcons split the uprights for a 25 yard field goal as the Falcons jumped out to a 30-7 lead after capitalizing on two fumbles by Naperville.
Shawn Sung came up huge for the Falcon defense on a 4th quarter rally, by stopping a 4th & 1 attempt by Naperville. Nate Hardwick also had an interception as well as being a threat on offense. Brett Bollweg scored on a 2 yard run.
The matchup between #7 Naperville North & #8 Wheaton North looked to be living up to hype as the score was 7-7 going into half-time. Naperville's defense had recorded 3 sacks as well as a few stops in the backfield and was containing the Falcons high powered offense before the half. Tyler Krasowski, Brett Stillwagon, Dan Simnick & Greg Kick recorded at least on sack or backfield stop during the game.
Down but not out the Huskies started mounting their comeback just into the fourth quarter when Greg Wunderlich connected with Peter Basso for a 9 yard touchdown pass.
After a bad snap to Wheaton and and even worse punt the Huskies were looking to even things even more. Naperville would drive down to the red zone and a 4th down pass to Basso would not only yield a first down but a touchdown as Basso broke two tackles and bowled over two other defenders at the goal line for the 18 yard score.
The Huskie sideline erupted with cheers as Lee Weidenbacher recovered their attempted onside kick, but on fourth & one Sung made his comeback ending tackle.
