Defense Falters In Second Half

Gurnee (Memorial Park) - The Blue Devils & the Sequoits of Antioch came out butting head in a Saturday day afternoon bruiser. In a game that had fans wondering if either team was ever going to score, the Devils showed the could play offense too in the second have.
Both teams played stellar games up to the half, but Antioch was unable to respond as the Blue Devils turned it up a notch on offense. The Sequoits came close to scoring in the 2nd but a tipped pass attempt by Brandon White resulted in an interception with just 59 seconds left in the half.
The outstanding defense that helped contain the Devils running game in the first half faltered and gave up four big plays resulting in touch downs. Warren's C.J. Feller had TD passes of 45 & 27. While running back Matt Vandaele scored on runs of 24 & 30.
Eric White was the lone scorer for Antioch, which came at the 6:18 mark in the third on a 13 yard run with
Warren improves it's record to 7-1 and secures it place in the IHSA playoffs for the second year in a row. While Antioch falls to 5-3 and has a must win if it wants to make the playoffs for it's third straight year.
