Defense wins first game for St. Rita

Welcome to Dyle Stadium for week 1 of high school football.

Chicago (South Side) - St. Rita's offense looked a little shaky Friday nite as they hosted Chicago Gorden Tech, but thanks to their defense they were able to pull out a win.

Starting off the season with a fumble for a turnover on your first play from the line of scrimage is not how you want to start things off. That's how things started for St. Rita Friday night at Doyle Stadium on the South Side of Chicago.

They quickly turned around though during Gordon's first possesion the Rams QB Jim Moorehouse through an interception to Rita's Michael Kleinick which was return for a touch down.

In the 4th quater a blocked punt in the endzone resulted in a saftey , giving the Mustangs a little insurance. It turned out they didn't need it, as Rita's defense broke up Gordon's final attemps in the fourth quater to give the (22nd ranked ) Mustangs 1-0 start.

Kleinick's first quarter pick for a TD.
