On the first drive of the game, Lane Tech scored on a 22 yard touchdown pass from Quarterback Matt Richard to Wide Receiver Xavier Torres to give Lane a 6-0 lead.
After that the Warren defense shut down Lane's offense. Meanwhile the Warren offense plowed through the Lane defense the whole game. The Warren attack was led by Running Back Mitchell Moore who ran for 164 yards on 17 carries with 3 rushing touchdowns. Moore, who is considering Iowa State, Illinois, or Purdue as schools to continue his football career also had 3 catches for 136 yards and 1 touchdown catch. Warren also scored on a 10 yard touchdown run by Marvin Bembry and a 24 yard touchdown run by Brennan Drew.
Lane ends it's season 6-4 after two tough season ending losses to Dunbar last week in the Chicago Public League playoffs and now this loss to Warren. Warren, on the other hand will continue it's playoff run when it plays the winner of the Maine South vs. St. Patrick game. Many people are anticipateing a rematch of Warren vs. Maine South. Warren handed Maine South it's only loss of the season in week two of the regular season.
