NC plays Jekyll & Hyde

Naperville (North Central College Stadium) - For the second year in a row, fans in suburban Naperville gathered at North Central College in excess of 14,000 to watch the Cardinals of North... Skip that, to watch Naperville North battle Naperville Central for town bragging rights as well as possibly the DuPage Valley Conference title. And for at least half of the game nobody in the stadium was let down.

Both teams came out gunning but were not able to reach pay dirt for the first two quarters. Central was doing a good job moving the ball down field but were stopped twice in their own redzone on fourth downs. Defensively North's Mark Kiesko made the biggest stop for the Huskies in the 2nd quarter. He picked off a pass at North's 7 yard line to stop a promising Central drive, that started from the other end of the field.

Ryan Senica, had a sack for Central, as the Red Hawks managed to keep the Huskies out of the endzone & the redzone for the first half.

After half time came a change over for the Red Hawks. Maybe they should have been slipping on new jerseys, like North did between warm-ups & the start of the game, because the offense took on a new look in the third quarter Friday night. With big break away gains scoring 3 of their touchdowns.

Central's first drive after the kickoff ended a few plays later with a Jason Paquette 37 yard run for a TD. Parquette, who's doing his time, filing in for injured teammate Kyle Griffith, didn't miss a step. He step up for two more TD's one for 7 & another for 60.

Phil Horvath would hit Tyke Spencer & Dan Passarelli, in the third, for 2 passing TD's to break open & seal the game for Naperville Central with a total of 28 points in the third.
