Defense Stifles Bearcats Rushers

The E/B Trojans needed to limit Yorkwood/Roseville fullback Tyler Gillen to well under his 200+ yards per game average to contain a Bearcat offense that had scored over thirty twice this season. The
Trojans rose to the occasion, and then some. E/B linemen Jessie Bedwell and Brandon Porter and middle linebacker Cody Black clogged the middle, limiting Gillen to just 39 yards on 11 carries, with only eleven of those yards coming in the second half. In doing so, the Trojans forced the Bearcat offense to rely on other weapons, and the outcome was not much better as the hosts were limited to just 171 all-purpose offensive yards on the night, including an interception by senior defensive back
Nate McFadden and a fumble recovery by Porter.. About 50 of the Bearcat's yards cam on their lone scoring drive late in the fourth quarter.

Offensively, the Trojans were once again paced by senior wingback Nate McFadden, who turned in an 11 carry, 171 yard, 2 touchdown performance. Senior fullback Clayton Powers had a season-best night, rushing 18 times for 104 yards and 1 touchdown. Junior wingback Cody Black blasted
through the Yorkwood/Roseville line 15 times for 88 yards and 2 touchdowns. Quarterback Dax Feuchter continued to be effective in the passing attack, completing 2 of 4 for 48 yards (45 yards to senior tightend Ben Schmitt and 3 yards to McFadden).

The Yorkwood/Roseville team saw some bright spots during the night. Junior running back Brogan Stuart rushed 9 times for 70 yards. Senior quarterback Ben Randall rushed 4 times for 32 yards. Senior linebacker Kevin Krane had an outstanding evening, recording 2 solo and 8 assisted tackles. Tyler Gillen was a force from his defensive end position, chasing down plays from behind while recording 1 solo and 7 assisted tackles.

The Trojans move to 4-0 on the season. They play Bushnell-Pairie City-Avon (3-1) this Friday. The Bearcats fall to 2-2. They play South Fulton (1-3) this Friday.
