Week #8 Lewistown(5-3)
Trojans Rally for 7th WinLewistown - The Lewistown Indians got of to a quick start versus the E/B Trojans on Friday, scoring two unanswered touchdowns in the first quarter. The Indians defense came out with the intensity they've been lacking early in games, stiffling E/B's running attack early. At the end of the The Trojans woke up and responded in the second quarter with two unanswered touchdowns of their own. E/B's Nate McFadden scored on a 42 yard run early in the quarter. He then caught an 8 yard touchdown pass from quarterback Dax Feuchter on the Trojans' next drive. E/B converted their second PAT, making the score 13-12. The Indians struck back right before halftime on a Webb reception, but the Indians failed once again to convert the extra point, making the score at intermission 18-13. Lewistown caught the Trojans sleeping with the second half kickoff, recovering the ball on an onside kick. The Trojans held tough, though, forcing a turnover on down. E/B then drove the length of the field, Nate McFadden scoring on a fantastic one-handed grab (18 yards from Feuchter). He then converted the extra point to give the Trojans a two point lead, 20-18. The Indians, unable to cross mid-field on their next possession, were forced to punt to E/B. The Trojans responded by marching the ball down field, largely behind the running of junior Cody Black, to chew up the remainder of the third quarter and half of the fourth. The Indians held firm on the goalline, forcing a McFadden fumble at the 1/2 yard line. The fourth quarter proved that this tilt between traditional power Lewistown and up-and-comer E/B would be a nail biter to the end. The Indians drove to approximately mid-field following the E/B fumble, only to have Trojans senior defensive back Maurice Sonnemaker intercept a Levingston deep ball. The Trojans were unable to gain a first down following a delay of game penalty, and punted to the Indians' 45 yard line. With time running down (just over one minute), and the Indians out of time outs, E/B junior defensive back intercepted a Livingston pass attempt following a hurry by defensive tackle Cordt Hicke. The Trojans took a knee and the victory. Lewistown (5-3) travels to North Fulton (4-4) this week. E/B (7-1) plays South Fulton (4-4) at home. by Todd Hollis Help keep your school's fans up to date.
