Another record-setting weekend for (Park Ridge) Maine South's Sean Price
has come again as the senior quarterback broke his own IHSA Class 8A playoff
records in a 56-30 victory against (Roselle) Lake Park in the 8A semifinals.
Price's new marks in the Downstate Dance are now 37 completions (of 46
attempts) for 462 yards. The yardage puts him just under 200 yards away
from breaking the all-time single season yardage mark set by Riverside-Broofield's
Tim Brasic in 2001. The single-game ledger is a football field shy of
the all-class playoff record of 573, also set by Brasic in a 2001 quarterfinal
loss to Joliet Catholic.
The completions mark is a brand new all-class playoff record in Illinois,
eclipsing the 36 completions thrown by - who else - Brasic. Also, Price
328 completions and 496 attempts are brand new single-season records,
eclipsing - once again - Brasic. Six more passing scores and Price will
have that single-season mark as well; he presently has 53.
