Condors Hold Off Scrappy Dolphins

Chicago (Rockne Stadium) You would think with a 28-6 halftime lead that the Whitney Young Dolphins were left for dead. But these Dolphins were taken for granted and raced back into the game before the strong running game of Curie put an end to the afternoon and handed Young its first loss of the season by a final of 35-20.

Every phase of the Dolphins offensive attack was held in check while Cody Miller of Curie piled up 212 passing yards 3 TDs on the afternoon. Deron Leslie kept the Dolphins in it with all three rushing TDs on the day, but it was not enough to offset two interceptions. The Dolphins committed three turnovers on the afternoon which led to 14 Condor points.

Young had two shots in the first half to tie the game, but were stonewalled on downs both times, including a first-and-goal from the 2 yard line.
