Dolphins Start Fast and Blank South Shore

By Brian Snow - Whitney Young SportsNet

CHICAGO (Eckersall Stadium)  The Whitney Young Dolphins came into this season as a team on the rise and after a 5-4 record last year, they look to go even further into the CPL and return to the state playoffs.  The Dolphins began with a smashing performance against the South Shore Tars and shut them out for the second straight season by a count of 45-0.

After holding the Tars to a three-and-out, the Dolphins struck quickly as DJ Purnell hit Alan Roberts for a 27-yard TD and a 7-0 lead.  The next South Shore posession ended in the endzone as QB Isaiah Delanie was sacked in the endzone for a safety while attempting a punt.  Then the Dolphins were really off and running - literally as Jordan McCord finished off the ensuing drive with a 1-yard touchdown and before you could blink, it was 16-0.

The Dolphins take on the Dyett Eagles at Hanson Stadium next Friday and the game can be heard over Whitney Young SportsNet
