Joining a new division is never an easy transition. However, for Head Coach Stan Weinke and the Tuscola Warriors such a challenge is never a concern.
Coming off a division 1A state title in 2006, the Warriors are poised to make another run at the state crown. However, to do so this season they will have to get through some new competitive teams in their realigned conference.
“Things will certainly be different this year,” said Coach Weinke. We will be playing against teams that in divisions 2A and 3A this season which should be a definite challenge for our players and coaching staff. Additionally, we’ll be playing against schools like Clinton that are on the verge of being considered 4A.”
These new challenges however do not worry the confident Warriors. Led by his son John Weinke at Quarterback, Coach Weinke should feel supremely confident. John, who has given a verbal commitment to the University of Michigan, passed for over 3,000 yards last season, and is poised to have an equally impressive performance in the 2007 season.
