Simon Sets Record, Bulldogs Say Undefeated

Carmi-White County hosted Elverado/Trico and captured their eighth straight win by beatingthe Falcons 46 - 8. Coach Kurt Simon in his ninth year as leader of the Bulldogs, gainedhis 56th win, and in doing so, set an all-time school record for most coaching victories.

He eclipsed the old record of 55 triumphs set by E. J. Harrington between 1925 and 1936. A win over Eldorado next Friday would give Simon and the Bulldogs two undefeated seasons (2003 and 2005) and only one loss in 2004.

Carmi came out wit h their guns blazing and put 40 unanswerd points on the board in the first half (20 in each quarter). With a continous clock operating the second half, Carmi registered its final TD on the second of two TD receptions by Keegan Dennis with 8:46 left in the 3rd Quarter. Elverado/Trico scored its only touchdown, as the game ended, with Cord Williams running it in from four yards out and Aaron Berry running for the two point conversion.

Quarterback, Chase Kittinger tied the school record of five touchdown passes in one game, and while doing so, completed 14 of 19 passing attempts for 305 yards. Keegan Dennis grabbed five aerials for 126 yards and touchdown receptions of 22 and 50 yards.

Kittinger also connected with Kosikowski on a 27 yard TD reception, a 16 yard TD reception to Lincoln Talley and a 35 yard TD reception by Mark Healy. Kittinger scored on a 10 yard run and Justin Kosikowski tied the school record of 25 career rushing touchdowns when he knifed through the line and sprinted to pay-dirt from 35 yards out with 9:50 left in the 2nd Quarter.

Carmi-White County rushed for 139 yards, passed for 305 yards and finished the game with 444 total yards, while the Falcons managed only 130 yards rushing, 90 yards passing, and 220 yards of total offense.
