2005 Week #7 Game Preview

Crusaders Look to Lock Playoff Berth

After a wild win over Fenwick two weeks ago, the Crusaders backed it up with their first regular season win over archrival St. Rita since 1994.

Now as Rice makes a push for the playoffs, it would be easy to take an opponent like theSt. Laurence Vikings lightly. But the Vikes come into this game as the CCL White Division leaders and winners of their last four. QB Tom Hiemer leads a modified wing-spread St. Laurence attack against a very nasty and stingy Brother Rice defense. After being scorched by Mt. Carmel for 272 rushing yards, the Crusader defense became stoudt again by giving up a combined 164 yards to Fenwick and St. Rita, two teams that thrive on the run.
