Crusaders Thrash Celtics

NEW LENOX (Bishop Kaffer Stadium) - The last two years that the Crusaders have hooked up with the Providence Celtics, it came down to a two point conversion to win. In 2003, the Crusaders converted theirs for a 15-14 win. In 2004, the Celtics attempted the same thing, but Brother Rice stopped them cold preserving a 20-19 Crusader triumph.

This game would not be a nail-biter. Austin McDonough made sure of that.

McDonough finished with 161 yards on 14 carries, including TD runs 28 and 40 yards, as the Crusaders recorded their third consecutive victory over the Celtics. Nick Panella, Pat Walsh and Jay Rynne each had an interception for Brother Rice. Senior quarterback Tim Evans was 7 of 13 for 99 yards, including an 8-yard TD pass to Paul Gannon (six catches, 82 yards).
The Celtics, however, were able to extend their consecutive-game scoring streak to 203.
